Membership of BLUF is free, and open to all men, regardless of their sexuality, who have an interest in breeches and leather uniforms, and are able to show that they understand our dresscode, though the bulk of our members are gay or bisexual. You can find full details of the dresscode on the BLUF menu.

How to join

To join BLUF, you need to send an email to . You must include at least one photograph of yourself in clothing that conforms to the BLUF dresscode. At least one photo must include a clear view of your face.

Additionally, you should let us know if you want to use a nickname on the site, or your real name, and which country you live in. We aim to respond to membership requests within seven days. If your membership is approved, you will receive a BLUF number and password by email.

Detailed dresscode

After logging in to the site, you will be able to enter additional details about yourself on your profile, and set your preferences for which messages you would like to receive from BLUF. You can upload additional photographs, which will be approved for display if they meet the dresscode.

Free membership

When we say free, we do really mean free. BLUF makes no charge for membership, nor for attending events - other than the usual entry fees charged by some venues. We rely, at present, entirely on voluntary donations.

Important information for members

BLUF has very few rules, beyond the dresscode. However, there are some important guidelines and other information, regarding privacy of other members, and what you need to do to keep your BLUF membership active. You'll find all the information you need on our Rules and privacy page.
