Looking for a nice pair of leather breeches? The first decision you need to make is whether you want them with or without "balloons" (flares). Here at BLUF we are very much in favour of balloons! The most popular styles are German riding breeches (elongated flare) or classic Tom-of-Finland breeches (small, rounded balloons). vk79 in Berlin is the specialist for German-style leather breeches. If you prefer breeches with a less pronounced flare (Tom-of-Finland style): Langlitz Leathers in Portland, Oregon (USA) is the best address - expensive but very good quality.

For custom-made full leather uniforms, try these specialists: vk79 in Berlin, LeatherGuiseUK in London, David Samuel Menkes in New York or Rawhides in New Jersey. Other leather shops that do good quality leather breeches, pants, and shirts: RoB in Amsterdam, London, Manchester and Berlin, Black Body in Amsterdam, Mr B in Amsterdam and Berlin, Mr Chaps in Hamburg, HM-Leder in Bremen, Erbo Classic Motorcycle Leathers, SpeXter in Munich, WESP near Aachen, Mr S Leather in San Francisco, 665 in Los Angeles, The Leather Man and Rubio Leather in New York, Northbound Leathers in Toronto. For easy web ordering: South Beach Leather, Leather-Uniform.de, Leather.dk and Leather Gentle. These companies are generally a lot cheaper than some of the afore-mentioned but often they will use lambskin instead of cowhide, which is a lot thinner. Recently, on the old BLUF Forum (now closed), some negative reports came in about Southbeach Leather.

Black Body in Amsterdam do full rubber uniforms (including flared breeches).

The best quality leather jackets come from the American westcoast: Nothing compares to a heavy, padded Columbia motorcycle jacket from Langlitz Leathers in Portland, Oregon. Vanson and Schott are also world-famous brands of heavy American motorcycle jackets. Leather police jackets can be ordered online from Classic Motorcycle Jackets and Taylors. Mr S Leather in San Francisco also sells quality leather jackets. For horsehide leather jackets: Lost Worlds in New York, or Aero Leather in Scotland.

Great American boots (Dehners, Wescos, Chippewas) are available from Stompers in San Francisco (discount for BLUF members) and Big Black Boots in San Diego. If you prefer classic riding boots, here are some famous Dutch and German brands: Petrie, Derby, Königs and Cavallo. All of these can only be ordered through retailers. For English riding boots: Equitector, Schnieder Boots, Horace Batten or John Lobb. In the US Vogel is a famous manufacturer of riding boots. Relatively cheap custom-made boots are available from Motor Cowboy, Boots For Guys and Diaz/The Leather Boutique but reports about the quality of their boots vary. Perhaps the best way to find used boots, is to check on Ebay auctions or local online auction sites.

For quality gloves: Toughgloves and Stompers, both in San Francisco, or Leather Gloves Online.

An authentic Muir cap is of course part of a 'serious' leatherman's outfit. The Muir Cap company still exists but the original Muir cap made of stiff, quality leather is hard to get these days. If you want a different style uniform cap in leather (eg. 8-ponted NYC police cap or high peaked SS cap, go to David Samuel Menkes in New York or Rawhides in New Jersey. Police-Equipment-Worldwide and Squad-Fitters sell classic CHP and other types of US police helmets. Second-hand UK police helmets, caps and other accessoires may be found at x-mensclothing in London. They sometimes have complete UK motorcycle police leathers available.

If you need leather belts, baton holders, key holders, gun leathers, uniform patches, metal badges, collar pins, and other insignia, try one of these specialists: Station House (USA), QuarterMaster CA & NV, USA), Galls (Kentucky, USA), Silvermans and Nicholas Morigi (both London, UK) and Militaria Collection (Italian). They all do weborders.

What's a leathercop without a gun? Do a search on internet for "replica guns" or "air soft guns" and find suppliers around the world (mostly in the US). In Europe, try Waffen Ostheimer (Germany) or Arms Collection (Italy). Check whether they are legal in your country of residence. Batons can be bought from Police-Equipment-Worldwide and other police equipment stores in the US. Short rubber truncheons are usually carried by RoB stores and other leathershops. Military-Store in Berlin usually has the longer version of the rubber truncheon. Need handcuffs? Try Station House. For quality whips and floggers: Heartwood Whips in San Francisco, Murphy Whips in Australia and Cobra Whips in London.

Prefer to play at home in your leathers and got plenty of money? Build a dungeon or prison block in your home and have it furnished by Dungeon Beds in San Francisco. Not that rich? At the Black Tulip Hotel in Amsterdam you can rent a fully equipped dungeon-type room for a couple of nights. Or turn your own bed into a leather play area with leather sheets and pillow cases from WESP or from mindfetish.com.

Bars, clubs, parties
Ever dressed up in full leather uniform and found you were the only one in one of these so-called leatherbars? Many of the once notorious leatherbars in cities like New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Hamburg or Cologne have either closed or no longer enforce a leather dress-code. The result is that fewer and fewer 'serious' leathermen visit these places. Backstreet in London is now one of the few (if not the only) leatherbars that continue to enforce a strict leather/rubber dress-code.

To compensate for the demise of the traditional leatherbar scene, strict dress-code parties are now being organized in private clubs. Club Vagevuur in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, organizes theme parties. Their Leather and Law parties attract BLUF members from all over Europe. The BSF meetings in Munich, Frankfurt and other cities in Germany are also worth travelling for. BLUF meetings are regularly organized in London (Backstreet, The Hoist), Paris (various locations), Belgium (The Blackhole in Antwerp and The Chaps in Ličge), Germany (Station2B in Cologne, and Zone 283 in Bremen) and USA (The Green Lantern in Washington, DC, and SF Eagle, San Francisco). Usually separate BLUF parties are organized during major leather events (MAL, IML, Folsom, Ostertreff, Hamburg leather party, Munich Oktoberfest, Amsterdam leatherpride, and, recently, Rome - see party list below). Although primarily for BLUF members, you may be allowed to attend if you dress up well enough!

In the USA, the so-called leather contests continue to be popular. For International Mr Leather (IML) in Chicago (last weekend in May) you definitely must dress up. Also very popular is Mid-Atlantic Leather (MAL) in Washington DC (January). In San Francisco SF Leather Week/Folsom Street Fair (September) is the highlight of the season, although in recent years Dore Alley Fair (in July) seems to have become more popular with the leathercrowd.

In Europe, leather parties were traditionally organized by the long-established gay biker clubs, united in ECMC. However, many of these clubs are having a hard time to survive and commercial organizations have taken over organizing these parties. Top of the bill is still Hamburg's leather party (2nd weekend in August). Other major leather parties in Europe: Berlin's Ostertreff (Easter) and Folsom Europe (September), Stockholm's Baltic Battle (May/June), Munich's Oktoberfest ("Gay Sunday", usually in September!) and Amsterdam's Leather Pride (weekend before/after Halloween). Erotic drawings, photos, stories
There is no-one who draws men in breeches and leather uniforms like Tom of Finland did. If you are seriously into this fetish you must get the complete KAKE series to start with and then move on to Retrospective I, II & III. The work of Tom, as well as other gay artists like The Hun, Les and Etienne, is available from the Tom of Finland Company. Search the Internet for drawings of leathered cops and guards by Uli of Berlin and David Packer. Joe T. draws cops and leathermen in elaborate bondage situations. ULF is one of the better 3-D artists.

Most of us take our own pictures, but if you are looking for a professional erotic photographer, check out San Francisco photographers Mark I Chester and Jim Wigler (no website at the moment). Ulli Richter is another well-known leather photographer in London.

For some sizzling hot stories check out Mac Stevens Stories Site and Crawl Magazine. Look for the series of reports from Underton Prison and Underton Police Department: The boot-stomping cops are in black leather uniforms! If you can't get enough, browse through Story Time. If you read German, get a copy of the erotic novel DIE HOELLENHUNDE by Thomas Schwartz, about the confrontation of a leather biker gang with a leatherclad cop. Also in German, Georg McGregor's collection of stories. A favourite story of your BLUF webmaster is "Der Bullenreiter",published in TOY STORIES, volume 6. For BLUF members, there is a great collection of stories in BLUF's Online Magazine.

Magazines
We do not know of a magazine dedicated exclusively to men in leather uniforms and breeches. Most leather magazines have a hard time to survive these days, due to Internet competition.

You may find interesting pictures, articles and ads in American publications like IN UNIFORM, THE LEATHER JOURNAL, and in back-issues of no longer existing magazines like INTERNATIONAL LEATHERMAN, POWER PLAY, CUIR, IN BOUND, DRUMMER and TOUGH CUSTOMERS. German/Swedish publications like TOY Magazine and MR SM and back-issues of DISZIPLIN, KUMPEL and the kinky French magazine PROJET X (all 3 no longer published), may also keep you entertained for a couple of hours.

Movies
It is not easy to find a movie that portrays men in full leather uniforms. That is why BLUF participated in the making of the LEATHER AND LAW movie by Club Vagevuur. The video is now available from Vagevuur both on DVD and VHS.

An absolute classic is SKLAVENWERKSTATT HAMBURG / SLAVE WORKSHOP HAMBURG (by Euromen) and a more recent one DIE KISTE (Ranger Videos), both with leather-breeched fuckers. Full leather and great boot action in BOOT DREAMS and, even better, BOOT THERAPY (Fuselier Productions), available from Men In Boots Club (which apparently has merged with Bootsplus). Some interesting cop videos at Station House, Bic Productions and Academy Men. One of the more leathery cop movies is ATLANTA KNIGHTS (by Station House).

Websites
If you were hoping to find on this page lots of links to sites with pictures of men in full leather uniforms, you may get disappointed. We have found relatively little of that on the Web. That's why we started BLUF! There's no way around it: There's no other site on the Web like BLUF with it's strict dresscode. Most of the pictures are on the private member pages - not available to non-members. So send in your picture now and link up with 1700 of the hottest and most serious leathermen in the world - it costs you nothing!

Some paysites (no names) are merely expensive rip-offs, no dress-code and pictures that you have seen on 50 other sites already. Bootlust (formerly Bootsplus, but Bootsplus is now Men In Boots. I know - confusing!) was one of the more interesting paysites but they have been doing too many re-runs lately.

If you're looking for horny contact sites, we would suggest to become a member of GearFetish or register at one of the Recon sites (Worldleathermen, World Uniform, Bikermen, Slave4Master, Worldskins), GayRomeo, Gay Royal or Gaydar. You can also search for more specialized groups on general platforms like Yahoo, MSN or AOL.

For pictures, stories and general info check out the specialized websites of HotBoots, Bootsplus/MIB and Bootjaq (boot fetish sites), California Boots and Breeches Corps, Black and Tans (uniform sites), LeatherDOG (dog play), Smoking Hunks (cigars and leather) and Jail Training Center (fantasy role play). On a more serious note, the Leather Archives in Chicago collects, preserves and exhibits everything that pertains to the leather/SM lifestyle.

Quite a few BLUF members have their own personal websites. It would go too far to list all of them but here are a few of the more elaborate and outstanding ones: Leather Biker, Leathrcop, TrooperBoots, BootBoy, GlovdCopSF, Leathercops, Bikerworld, Copstation, Knut's Page, Skin Leather Biker and Cuff's COPenhagen.

If you're not a member of BLUF, you may want to leave your comments, spew your criticism, ask questions or meet other visitors to this site in BLUF's Breeches and Leather Uniform Forum.
